Would You Like to Start Receiving Meals on Wheels?
To see if you or a loved one qualify for Meals on Wheels, please start the process through the Trident Area Agency on Aging located in North Charleston by calling 843-554-2275 to schedule an appointment. If you qualify, Berkeley Seniors will be notified and we will contact you to begin meal delivery.
Meals on Wheels is a nationwide network of community-based, non-profit programs dedicated to providing seniors in their communities with the support that enables them to remain living in their own homes, where they want to be. This support is typically a nutritious meal, a friendly visit and a quick safety check.

What to Expect
Meals on Wheels focuses on caring for individuals whose diminished mobility makes it hard to shop for food, prepare meals or socialize with others. Generally programs serve adults 60 and over, although age requirements can vary by program and areas served. People who are mobile enough to join others for meals in a group setting where seniors congregate, like senior centers and cafes, are encouraged to do so; while others less mobile may qualify for home delivery.
What You Need to Get Started
The Meals on Wheels program begins the process through a phone call, which may then lead to an assessment of the need for meals and other supportive services. Some programs may additionally require a referral letter from a doctor or social worker. Using the number above, contact your local program to get the ball rolling.
