Volunteer Policy: Berkeley Seniors is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation. Should a volunteer believe that he or she has been the victim of or witnessed an act of discrimination and/or harassment; the volunteer should bring the matter to the attention of the Executive Director immediately. As a volunteer you may encounter confidential information regarding clients served by Berkeley Seniors. Volunteers agree that any confidential information obtained during or through volunteering will remain in strictest confidence. Volunteers understand that the agreement to maintain confidentiality of Berkeley Seniors and/or client information will remain in full force during any volunteer assignments and at all times thereafter. Volunteer does hereby release and forever discharge Berkeley Seniors from any liability or claim that the volunteer may have against Berkeley Seniors with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death or property damage that may result from volunteer activities, whether caused by the negligence of Berkeley Seniors, or its officers, directors, employees or agents. Volunteer authorizes Berkeley Seniors to seek emergency medical treatment in case of accident, injury or illness. Volunteer understands that Berkeley Seniors does not carry insurance on volunteers. Any claims will be submitted to volunteer’s personal insurance carrier. Volunteer grants permission to Berkeley Seniors to utilize any photographs or videos taken for publicity purposes. Volunteer hereby grants and conveys all right, title and interest in any and all images, video and audio recordings, including but not limited to proceeds, royalties or other benefits derived from such images and recordings.
